Served in Company H, 1st Infantry, North Dakota National Guard (Company H, 164th Infantry), to Jan. 18, 1918; Company A, 26th Infantry, to death. Overseas from Dec. 15, 1917, to death. Engagements: Defensive: Montdidier-Noyon. Offensive: Aisne-Marne. Defensive Sectors: Ansauville (Lorraine); Cantigny (Picardy).
