Served in Company D, 1st Infantry, North Dakota National Guard (Company D, 164th Infantry), to Jan. 9, 1918; Company I, 18th Infantry, to death. Overseas from Dec. 15, 1917, to death. Engagement: Defensive Sector: Ansauville (Lorraine).
