Registered Barnes county. Born, Junction City, Ohio, Jan. 27, 1895. Enlisted in the Marine Corps at Valley City, N. Dak., on Dec. 22, 1917. Sent to Parris Island, S. C. Served at Quantico, Va., from March 3, 1918, to March 17, 1918. Arrived in France, March 27, 1918. Served in 67th Company, 5th Regiment, to death. Engagements: Toulon Sector: Aisne Defensive: Chateau-Thierry Sector. Awarded Fourragere.
