Biography:

Not a registrant, under age. Born, South Bend, Ind., July, 1896, of (nationality of parents not given). Occupation - unknown. Enlisted at Jefferson Barracks, Mo., on July 5, 1917. Served in Battery F, 17th Field Artillery, to Aug. 21, 1917; 2nd Battery Training Battalion, 7th Field Artillery, to Nov. 22, 1917; Headquarters Company, 1st Field Artillery Brigade, to death. Engagements: Defensive: Montdidier-Noyon. Offensives: Aisne-Marne; Meuse-Argonne; St. Mihiel. Defensive Sectors: Sommerviller, Ansauville, and Saizerais (Lorraine); Cantigny (Picardy).
