Registered Richland county. Born, Oakes, D. T., Feb 1, 1888, of Norwegian parents. Occupation - laborer. Inducted at Wahpeton on Sept. 22, 1917. Sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa. Served in Company I, 352nd Infantry, to Nov. 28, 1917; Company K, 348th Infantry, to April 12, 1918; Company D, 47th Infantry, to death. Overseas from May 10, 1918, to death. Engagement: Offensive: Aisne-Marne Tablets of the Missing at Aisne-Marne American Cemetery Belleau, France
