Biography:

Registered Miner county, S. Dak. Born, LeMars, Iowa, March 20, 1890, of American-German parents. Occupation - farmer. Inducted at Howard, S. Dak., on July 24, 1918. Sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa. Served in Company No. 57, 15th Battalion, 163rd Depot Brigade, to Aug. 23, 1918; Company No. 36, Labor Regiment, Camp Joseph E. Johnston, Fla., to Sept. 21, 1918; 10th Detachment, Administration Labor Company, to death. Overseas from Oct. 7, 1918, to death.
