Biography:

Not a registrant, enlisted prior. Born, Rolla, N. Dak., May 9, 1897, of American parents. Occupation - student. Enlisted in the Marine Corps at St. Paul, Minn., on May 11, 1917. Sent to Mare Island, Calif. Served in 35th Company, to Oct. 15, 1917; 112th Company, Quantico, Va., to Nov. 19, 1917; Galveston, Texas, to May 10, 1918; 150th Company, Quantico, Va., to May, 1918. Arrived in France, June 8, 1918. Served in 1st Corps Replacement Battalion, to July 5, 1918; 73rd Company, 6th Regiment, to death. Engagements: Chateau-Thierry Sector; Aisne-Marne Offensive (Soissons).
