Registered Slope county. Born, Springfield, Ill., Sept. 10, 1893, of (nationality of parents not given). Occupation - merchant. Enlisted at Jefferson Barracks, Mo., on July 30, 1917. Served in 72nd Aero Squadron, Signal Corps, to Sept. 13, 1917; 117th Aero Squadron, to June 1, 1918; 638th Aero Squadron, to death. Grades: Corporal, June 1, 1918; Sergeant, Aug. 1, 1918; Sergeant 1st Class, Oct. 1, 1918. Overseas from Dec. 18, 1917, to death.
