Registered Barnes county. Born, New Ulm, Minn., March 11, 1895, of (nationality of parents not given). Occupation - bookkeeper. Inducted at Valley City on Sept. 18, 1917. Served in Company L, 352nd Infantry, to Nov. 22, 1917; 2nd Recruit Battalion, Kelly Field, Texas, to Dec. 10, 1917; 152nd Aero Squadron, to death. Grades: Private 1st Class, Oct. 11, 1917; Corporal, Nov. 1, 1917; Private, Nov. 22, 1917; Corporal, Feb. 8, 1918. Overseas from Feb. 20, 1918, to death.
