Registered Stark county. Born, Cheronowitz, Austria, Jan. 26, 1895. Declarant citizen. Occupation - assistant bank cashier. Enlisted in Company F, 1st Infantry, North Dakota National Guard, at Fort Lincoln, on Aug. 28, 1917. Served in Company F, 1st Infantry, North Dakota National Guard (Company F, 164th Infantry), to Jan. 18, 1918; Company M, 26th Infantry, to death. Grade: Private 1st Class, March 1, 1918. Overseas from Dec. 15, 1917, to death. Wounded, slightly, June 9, 1918. Engagements: Defensive: Montdidier-Noyon. Offensive: Aisne-Marne. Defensive Sectors: Ansauville (Lorraine); Cantigny (Picardy).
