Biography:

Registered in Ransom County. Born Enderlin, Ransom County, North Dakota on August 18, 1896 of German parents. Resided in Enderlin, Ransom County North Dakota. Occupation: Farmer. Enlisted in the Marine Corps at Minneapolis Minnesota on June 7, 1916. Serviced in 41st Company, Guam from April 6, 1917 to April 13, 1917. Barracks Detachment, Mare Island, California from April 28, 1917 to June 15, 1917 to discharge. Discharged at Mare Island California on July 16, 1917 as a Private, Medical Survey. Inducted at Lisbon on August 31, 1918 sent to University of North Dakota. Served in Students Army Training Corps until death. Died at Grand Forks ND on October 21, 1918 along with 26 fellow soldiers during the Flu Pandemic.
