Biography:

Registered Slope county. Born, Hatton, N. Dak., April 18, 1895, of (nationality of parents not given). Occupation - farmer. Enlisted at Jefferson Barracks, Mo., on Sept. 24, 1917. Served in Company C, 61st Infantry, to Dec. 2, 1917; Machine Gun Company, 61st Infantry, to Feb. 11, 1918; Sanitary Squadron, 9th Brigade, 5th Division, to March 4, 1918; Machine Gun Company, 61st Infantry, to May 8, 1918; Company H, 61st Infantry, to death. Overseas from April 16, 1918, to death. Engagements: Offensives: St. Mihiel; Meuse-Argonne. Defensive Sectors: St. Die and Villers-en-Haye (Lorraine); Anould (Alsace).
