Biography:

Registered Ransom county. Born, Fort Ransom, N. Dak., April 4, 1894, of Norwegian parents. Occupation - farmer. Inducted at Lisbon on May 24, 1918. Sent to Camp Lewis, Wash. Served in 14th Company, 4th Battalion, 166th Depot Brigade, to June 16, 1918; Company A, 158th Infantry, to Sept. 20, 1918; Company A, 306th Infantry, to Dec. 26, 1918; 434th Casual Company, Camp Devens, Mass., to Jan. 23, 1919; 12th Company, 3rd Training Battalion, 151st Depot Brigade, to death. Overseas from Aug. 11, 1918, to Jan. 21, 1919. Engagements: Offensive: Meuse-Argonne. Defensive Sector: Foret-d'Argonne (Lorraine).
