Not a registrant, under age. Born, Grafton, N. Dak., July 12, 1898, of Irish parents. Occupation - baker. Enlisted at Jefferson Barracks, Mo., on Oct. 9, 1917. Served in Machine Gun Company, 61st Infantry, to Dec. 1, 1917; Company B, 14th Machine Gun Battalion, to death. Grades: Cook, Feb. 4, 1918; Private, Aug. 29, 1918. Overseas from April 12, 1918, to death. Engagements: Offensive: St. Mihiel. Defensive Sectors: Anould (Alsace); St. Die and Villers-en-Haye (Lorraine).
