Sidewalk Construction to Begin North of Capitol Building

Construction will begin this week on the sidewalk located to the north of the North Dakota State Capitol Building. As a result, part of the sidewalk will be closed for a couple of days beginning tomorrow – Wednesday, October 23.

State Job Classification System Changing

The North Dakota state government job classification system is changing. A new, simplified and streamlined job classification and grade level format will be active for all North Dakota state jobs beginning on July 1, 2020. This is a positive change to the system that focuses on decreasing the number of job classifications and increasing salary ranges to allow for greater movement.
This change will not impact current salary, working job title or duties.

South Side of Capitol to Receive Upgrades

The south side of the North Dakota State Capitol Building will be getting a couple of upgrades. The North Dakota Capitol sign that is located on the south capitol mall area will be replaced, and the south capitol entrance will be remodeled.
“Both of these projects are significant due to their visibility to the public, but the entrance remodeling will actually affect how the public and employees can access the building during the construction phase,” Director of Facility Management John Boyle stated.
