Some State Facilities Implement Public Screening Process

Office of Management and Budget Director Joe Morrissette announced today that the North Dakota State Capitol and select locations of the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) will begin implementing a COVID-19 public screening process.
Capitol Cafe Hours and Menu Changes

Effective March 20, 2020 and until further notice, the Capitol Café hours of operation will change to 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The following will be available:
- Limited daily specials
- Grab and go items
- Breakfast special served on the main entrée line
- Lunch special served on the main entrée line
The grill menu will no longer be available.

The situation with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is dynamic and evolving, but the risk continues to be low in North Dakota and in the United States. As of March 6, we have zero positive cases in North Dakota. The North Dakota Department of Health is working with the CDC and partners across North Dakota to minimize the risk of COVID-19 to North Dakotans. It takes a team effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, or any infectious disease, and our focus and message continues to be to prepare, not panic.
State Contract: Recruitment Services

The OMB State Procurement Office announces the award of a state contract (#004) for recruitment services (permanent positions).
The contract for recruitment services for permanent positions is separated into two categories, Executive and All Other, and each category has slightly different vendors. Four contracts out of eight have been executed. As the contracts are executed, the vendor contact info will be added to the SPO Contract website.

Free and open competition in government procurement, grant and program funding benefits taxpayers by ensuring lower prices as well as new and better products. Antitrust laws promote competition. Bid rigging and price fixing are examples of prohibited business practices. It is important for procurement officers to learn about the existence and importance of antitrust laws, and understand their role in antitrust enforcement.
