Current annual statement information that companies file with state regulators and with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) can now be accessed online. Information on each company is available through the NAIC's Consumer Information Source (CIS). Basic financial and complaint information is available through the CIS at no cost and detailed annual statement pages are available for download for a nominal cost. Adobe Acrobat Reader is needed to view the annual statements. If you have difficulty, please contact the North Dakota Insurance Department or the NAIC Help Desk.

To search for financial and complaint information using the CIS, enter the company name and the state in which the company is doing business. If possible, check your policy for the company's correct name because coverage may be issued by a subsidiary with a different name. When entering the company name, use only those words unique to that name - State Farm for example, not State Farm Fire & Casualty Company. The lookup function does not work when using the company's full name because the NAIC uses abbreviations for more common words such as INS for insurance and CO for company.

Please note that under North Dakota public records requirements, the Department is able to provide an electronic financial statement that is available for review in our office. For more information regarding access, please contact the Department.
