GET YOUR FREE 2018 AG IN THE CLASSROOM CALENDAR HERE!

During the 2016-17 school year, the North Dakota Department of Agriculture's Ag in the Classroom program held its first Ag in the Classroom (AITC) Calendar Art Contest. The contest invited third- to fifth-grade students to submit original artwork about North Dakota agriculture to be used in a calendar for agricultural literacy.

The winners were:

Cover: Saige Loll, Scranton, fifth grade. 
Months: Valeria Soriano Medrano, Bismarck, third grade; Anna Trafton, Bottineau, fourth grade; Chace Rolle, Leeds, fourth grade – October; Jeremiah Schmidt, Tioga, third grade; Madison Zimmerman, Elgin, fifth grade; Maddix Falk, Ray, fifth grade; Emma Swanson, Fargo, fifth grade; Gina Quamme, Wahpeton, fifth grade; Jewel Maxwell, Underwood, fourth grade; Garrett Huizenga, Linton, third grade; AmyLee Curry, Crystal, fifth grade; Tyler Wilson, Scranton, fifth grade. 

The winners received certificates from the North Dakota Department of Agriculture and a $25 cash prize from the North Dakota Bankers Association. Their artwork has bene published in the 2018 AITC calendar, which has been distributed to classrooms around the state. Each day features a North Dakota agriculture fact.
