Turkish delegation to visit N.D.
BISMARCK – A 13-person delegation from Turkey is visiting North Dakota to learn more about the state’s agriculture and higher education.
Tuesday, the delegation will meet with Gov. Jack Dalrymple and with Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring and visit the offices of the North Dakota Stockmen’s Association and the National Sunflower Association.
On Independence Day, the delegation visits the Northern Lights Dairy near St. Anthony and then takes in the annual July 4 Mandan Rodeo.
Thursday and Friday, the Turkish delegation visits Red River Commodities, the Northern Crops Institute and the NDSU Beef Research Center, all in Fargo and the Sinner Brothers & Bresnahan farms at Casselton. The will also hear presentations by North Dakota State University and USDA Rural Development officials, and meet with Fargo Mayor Dennis Walaker.
Members of the delegation include Abdulkadir Demir, governor of Denizli Province, and Osman Zolan, mayor of the city of Denizli.
