Hay transportation assistance program deadlines extended

BISMARCK – The deadline for eligible expenses for the North Dakota Department of Agriculture’s Emergency Hay Transportation Assistance Program has again been extended to Nov. 17, 2017. The program will reimburse eligible producers for a portion of hay transportation expenses incurred between June 1, 2017, and Nov. 17, 2017.

The deadline for applications to be submitted has also been extended until Nov. 17, 2017.

“Producers are still transporting hay from long distances, and in many cases they’re only getting one load a day,” Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring said. “People have expressed that the program is meaningful, and we want to give them the opportunity to count loads that are still being moved.”

Program eligibility requirements may be found on NDDA’s website at www.nd.gov/ndda.
