Goehring appoints policy analyst

BISMARCK – Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has appointed Britt Aasmundstad as a policy analyst in the North Dakota Department of Agriculture.

“Britt's farm background, academic credentials and internship experience will be put to good use,” Goehring said. “She has excellent communications skills and a ready understanding of farm policy issues.”

A native of Devils Lake, Aasmundstad graduated from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, with a degree in political science and communications. She was an intern with Food Export Midwest, the international marketing association for 13 midwestern state departments of agriculture, including North Dakota, and later with the staff of U.S. Sen. John Hoeven-ND.

In her new position, she will research, analyze and work on policy for Goehring; track legislative activities and analyze proposed federal regulations.
