Noxious Weed Workshop

BISMARCK – Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring is urging weed control officials and land managers to participate in an upcoming, noxious weed workshop in Langdon.

“This free workshop is designed to improve weed identification skills and control techniques,” Goehring said. “It will cover a number of North Dakota's noxious weeds, including yellow toadflax and musk thistle.”

Sponsored by the North Dakota Department of Agriculture (NDDA) and the Cavalier County Weed Board, the workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 15, at the North Dakota State University Langdon Extension Center, 9280 107th Ave. NE, one mile east of Langdon on N.D. Highway 5. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Rod Lym, professor of plant sciences at North Dakota State University; Katie Conklin range and pasture specialist from DuPont, and NDDA noxious weed staff will conduct the workshop.
