Gov. Doug Burgum announced on December 22, 2017 that North Dakota will participate in the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) with AT&T to establish a wireless communications network that will help first responders better serve and protect the public in times of need. FirstNet visited North Dakota to talk about their activities (July 2016) - The visit from the Region 8 FirstNet team, hosted by the ITD Public Safety Programs Director, Derrick Walker, reviewed ongoing efforts with the Statewide Interoperable Executive Committee as FirstNet prepares the Federal program for post contract award.
