FirstNet in the News! 

The National Telecommunications And Information Administration awarded funds to the State of North Dakota as part of second round of grants in support of the FirstNet program.  Funding is intended to support ND FirstNet in coordinating FirstNet needs with the State's public safety community at the local, regional, and State level.  For more details on the grant, please visit the NTIA below link.

  • Gov. Doug Burgum announced on December 22, 2017 that North Dakota will participate in the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) with AT&T to establish a wireless communications network that will help first responders better serve and protect the public in times of need.   • North Dakota attends FirstNet June 7-8 State Plans SPOC Meeting in Dallas, Tx

  • ND FirstNet team invited to attend the fall FirstNet conference and receive updates on the Federal program.  Highlights below 

  • FirstNet Federal Program Office draft environmental impact statement review meeting in Bismarck, ND.  Click here for details.    
  • FirstNet visited North Dakota to talk about their activities (July 2016) - The visit from the Region 8 FirstNet team, hosted by the ITD Public Safety Programs Director, Derrick Walker, reviewed ongoing efforts with the Statewide Interoperable Executive Committee as FirstNet prepares the Federal program for post contract award.  Click here to view the presentation!

  • North Dakota Consultation with FirstNet (March 2016) - North Dakota hosted a visit from the FirstNet Government Outreach team.  FirstNet representatives presented the 2016 Consultation plan and discussed what will be happening in the next 12-18 months.
