During the records management compliance review, a collection of each form currently being used in an agency is completed for analysis and review.  The forms inventory assists in the elimination, simplification, and combination of forms.  The completion of the inventory determines the following:

  1. Assignment of a state form number
  2. Duplication of information gathered on similar forms
  3. Purpose of the form
  4. Utilization of the forms design standards
  5. Possibility of the development of a universal form
