North Dakota Chief Information Security Officer Kevin Ford  and NDUS Vice Chancellor of Information Technology Darin King announced today that NDIT Cybersecurity Operations Center (CyOC) and North Dakota University Systems’ technology team Core Technology Services (CTS) are partnering to ensure heightened cybersecurity as universities adapt to changing technology needs and increased virtual learning needs.

“This is part of a broader cybersecurity strategic initiative to continue to build a stronger cyber resilience, strengthen our partnerships and enhance online safety for students statewide,” Ford said.

“This tighter integration between NDIT and NDUS has been on our roadmap for a long time,” King said. “We’re happy to see it come to fruition and we expect more opportunities to collaborate in the future.”

NDUS and NDIT are jointly working to improve processes when responding to cyber incidents and attacks. This new partnership allows for NDIT and NDUS to respond faster and more effectively to cyber-attacks with the potential to impact either organization.

NDUS is a unified system of 11 higher education institutions governed by the State Board of Higher Education. Organized in 1990, the University System is led by the chancellor. The NDUS staff supports the State Board of Higher Education’s mission to enhance the quality of life for all those served by the NDUS as well as the economic and social vitality of North Dakota.
