North Dakota’s Statewide Longitudinal Data System (SLDS) program now provides daily data on school, district and state learning preferences for students; face to face; hybrid (for example, two days a week face to face); or all distance learning: https://insights.nd.gov/Education/State/COVID.

SLDS, which provides data to support schools, research and evaluation of education and training programs, has added new features on the Insights.nd.gov website.

SLDS Program Manager Tracy Korsmo and SLDS Data Steward Jane Hovda demonstrated the capabilities of Insights.gov in a presentation during the Legislative Information Technology Committee meeting Sept. 30.

“NDIT is excited that the use of education and workforce data continues to evolve through visualizations and interactive data use,” Korsmo said, “this enables policymakers, agency directors and ND citizens to make data-informed decisions. “

Chief Data Officer Dorman Bazzell said, “If COVID-19 response has taught us anything, it’s that data matters. Having data that helps us both reflect today’s reality and tomorrow’s possibilities and empowers us to make informed decisions.”
