ITD has implemented a new video conferencing service called Pexip. The application is being introduced now so that it will be available for the summer semester.

Pexip has the ability to connect with traditional room-based H.323 and SIP video endpoints. In addition, desktop video users will now be able to connect with a web browser instead of an H.323 video client like Polycom’s Real Presence Desktop software. Chrome is the preferred web browser for users connecting via a MAC or PC. Users can also connect via a  mobile device (e.g. iPad, iPhone, Android, etc.) using the free Pexip app available in the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Pexip has been integrated into Renovo, the state’s video conferencing scheduling system. There has also been significant integration with the Avaya audio conferencing system, video recording and storage, and MS Lync/Skype for Business.
