In the summer of 2000, the ITD EDMS service came to life when the Tax Department wanted to scan state income tax returns to become more efficient and reduce physical storage. The service has grown to 23 state agencies and 3,100 users.
Today, there are 10.7 terabytes of data and 75.3 million records managed in FileNet, as well as integration with 36 applications. EDMS has grown from FileNet to include capture, email management, forms processing, and workflow.
