Cognos User Group Meeting

November 14, 2012 - 9:00am - 3:00pm

Bismarck State College’s National Energy Center of Excellence - Room 335

Meeting Notice

Several months ago, a group of people from ITD began meeting regularly with a group of IT people from Basin Electric. Our purpose was to share our Cognos knowledge and experiences, and to help each other improve and solve problems. It has gone very well, and we recently decided to open it up to other organizations, as well as extending beyond IT professionals. We are in the process of forming an official Cognos user group for ND and other states in the area, to be called the Badlands Cognos User Group. We hope to have a web site soon. The group will be listed with IBM Cognos and hopefully give us more visibility, as well as making it easier to get presenters from IBM and other vendors.

  • The morning session will be covering the new features in the newest release of Cognos, version 10.2. (The shared service at the state is on version 10.1.1 right now).
  • The afternoon is tentatively going to be a bit more technical, being focused on the Framework Manager modeling tool, but you are certainly welcome to attend this session as well.

  • A more detailed agenda will be provided once presenters have been confirmed.

We do not yet have a formal sign-up web site or other process, but need a count of attendees for planning purposes. If you are interested, please email, rfdavis@nd.gov, by October 26th. Please specify which sessions you plan to attend, and if you will be staying for lunch.

Additional Information

  • Attendance at either session is optional, and you need not stay the whole day to participate.
  • One of our presenters has graciously offered to provide us with a lunch. If you will be attending the lunch, please email rfdavis@nd.gov by October 26th.
