Meeting Recap:

News and Updates
  • ITD has begun MS SQL updates to 2012 and 2014, and there are details and schedules on the project page on ITD’s web site.
  • The Office of the Attorney General has begun updating their SQL databases and have found that the RAISERROR function that was deprecated in 2012 is no longer included in 2014.
Data Sharing Agreements
  • Data Sharing Agreements (DSAs) were further discussed and a repository of samples and templates has been created. Once the repository is vetted it will be published on ITD’s web site for agencies to use as a resource.
  • DSAs can help determine how data is being used, but there are still unanswered questions about how Century Code would affect open records requests to agencies that didn’t own the data being requested.
Data Architecture Definitions
  • The Data Architecture team has begun developing a list of terms commonly used in Data Architecture and applying definitions to those terms. Terms addressed so far include Metadata, Data Steward and Data Custodian. When the definitions are further along, they will be posted on the EA section of ITD’s web site, but will likely continue to be updated.
