 Meeting Recap:

Legislative Mobile Application Demonstration
  • Kyle Forster provided a demonstration of a new mobile application that was developed by ITD. The mobile app will be used by legislators, and will be available for public users soon. It provides an easy to use interface to track meeting schedules, bills, sponsors, etc. Detailed bill information is launched in the default web browser, displaying the same information as the Bill Tracking system on the legislative web site. The application runs on iOS and Android devices and will be available in the respective app stores before the next session begins.

Security Discussion / Application Inventory
  • Dan Sipes presented ITD’s position on developing an Application Inventory. Approximately 30 agencies have been contacted so far to request high-level basic information for their main systems or applications. The goal is have all information returned by the end of December.
  • The Cyber Security Task Force has had two meetings and those attending felt they went well. There was some desire for more clarity on roles and responsibilities. SITAC also discussed the increasing importance of Cyber Security Insurance and how the cost and application processes have escalated.

Current / Future Agency Drone Use
  • The group discussed the increased popularity of Drones and the information technology effects on that industry. The agencies in attendance discussed any current or planned use of drones for their agencies or how they might be affected by them. Some agencies have discussed possible uses, and all agree the regulations need to be fully understood before any action would be taken.

Large Project Reporting
  • Justin Data reviewed the large project oversight process and requirements for over-variance reporting.
  • Jenny Witham presented the Department of Human Services TMSIS project, including the project’s background, Casual Factors, Lessons Learned, and Variance History.
Where noted, the discussion of some of the above topics may be held in executive session rather than during the portion of the meeting that is open to the public. If this is a regular meeting, additional topics may be discussed. If this is a special or emergency meeting, the governing body's discussion will be limited to the topics and executive sessions listed above.
