The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015 reauthorizes the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) and provides for the creation of a list of external organizations that may provide technical assistance to 21st CCLC grantees.  As per ESSA, the term external organization means:

(A) a nonprofit organization with a record of success in running or working with before and after school (or summer recess) programs and activities; or

(B) in the case of a community where there is no such organization, a nonprofit organization in the community that enters into a written agreement or partnership with an organization described in subparagraph (A) to receive mentoring and guidance in running or working with before and after school (or summer recess) programs and activities.”

To meet the requirements for the minimum record of success, any organization submitting a Profile must:

  • Operate as a nonprofit organization in good standing in North Dakota; and
  • Possess a minimum of five years of experience operating or delivering services to out-of-school time programs in North Dakota.

If your organization meets the record of success requirements, you are eligible to complete and submit the ND 21st CCLC Profile Application. For more information about external organizations, please contact Arlene Wolf, ND 21st CCLC State Coordinator, or visit our NDDPI 21st CCLC website

Applications that are received and approved will be posted on the NDDPI 21st CCLC website.
