The North Dakota Department of Public Instruction has extended the timeline to seek qualified individuals to serve as content specialists from schools and school districts as well as institutions of higher education to review and revise the state’s current K-12 content standards in mathematics.

The NDDPI seeks qualified individuals to serve as content specialists from K-12 schools and school districts and higher education institutions in North Dakota. Applications to serve on the writing committee may be found on the Content Standards webpage under each relative subject section.

The standards writing committee will study the implementation effects of the 2017 academic content standards for mathematics. This committee will revise, update, and improve the structure and content, developing new standards. Once completed, any committee recommendations will be submitted for final approval by the state superintendent. Upon approval, the recommendations will result in adopting a new generation of academic standards to guide local school districts in developing local curricula.

The content standards development process will begin July 27-28, 2022, and include approximately four separate meetings, concluding in the summer of 2023. Applications must be submitted by June 27, 2022.

Please contact Davonne Eldredge with questions regarding the writing committee application process.
