At the end of each school year, the Title I program must somehow assess your parent and family engagement plan (including your compact). This assessment method should be documented so that it is available for review. Often, Title I teachers/coordinators choose to meet this requirement by administering a survey to Title I parents that asks them to respond to the parent and family engagement plan and how effective and realistic the plan was in its implementation.

Please note that you do not have to use a survey to meet this requirement of an Annual Assessment of Parent and Family Engagement. This is just the most common method that is used. Other ideas for this requirement could be having an end of the year meeting to assess the program with parents or actually calling parents at the end of the year and asking assessment questions. Whatever method you use, please remember that you must somehow document that the assessment took place.
