A 15% non-federal cash match (federal award divided by 85% multiplied by 15%) is required for Older Americans Act funds used to provide Supportive and Nutrition Services. The required match must be expended at the same rate as Federal funds are expended.

To assure this, as well as meet the match requirement in the Contract, the required match should be calculated using the formula provided by the Administration on Aging to determine matching requirements. The formula is as follows:

For each service, multiple the number of contracted units provided during the service period times the fixed contracted rate to determine the Federal/State payment amount. Divide the Federal/State payment amount by 85% and multiply that amount by 15%. (Contracted units provided x the fixed contracted rate = Federal/State payment รท 85% x 15% = required match).

Match is only required up to the amount that is identified in the Contract. Additional funds may be required to meet all program costs.

Funds received to provide Older Americans Act Family Caregiver Support Services must be matched with 25% non-federal cash match (federal award divided by 75% multiplied by 25%). The required match must be expended at the same rate as Federal funds are expended.

The contract outlines the applicable non-federal cash match requirement.
