Frequently Asked Questions: Northwest Human Service Center

Q. How long will it be before someone sees me?

A. Individuals can come to the human service center during Open Access hours Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to be assessed. They will be seen that day by a triage specialist. Depending on individual needs, a person may be assessed and served that day or later, or referred to a private behavioral health provider. The center responds to crisis situations the same day and responds immediately to emergency situations.

Q. Is the information I share confidential?

A. Northwest Human Service Center will not release any personal information about a client (either verbal or written) without a client's permission except when required to do so by law.

Q. What will it cost me to receive services?

A. Charges are based on family income and family size. When an individual has health insurance, Northwest Human Service Center will bill his or her insurance company. Any unpaid balance may be the responsibility of the individual. No one is denied service because of inability to pay, and there is a discounted/sliding fee available.
