G0290 Basic Public Information Officer Stutsman County

A G290 Basic Public Information Officer Course will be offered October 10th and 11th at the Stutsman County Law Enforcement Center located at 205 6th St. SE, Jamestown, ND 58401. This is a 2 day class which will begin at 8:00am and end at 5:00pm on both days. (Lunch is on your own) This training will be led by instructors from The Blue Cell, LLC. There is no charge to attend. This training is POST Board approved.

To receive completion certificates and meet NIMS Compliance for this course, all attendees will need to have a FEMA SID Number with them when they come to class. If you don’t have a number one can be obtained at the following website: https://cdp.dhs.gov/FEMASID.

Course Overview
This course provides training to prepare students to function as a designated Public Information Officer. (PIO) This course will teach the value of communication before, during, and after an incident. It will help PIOs identify critical audiences, both internal and external to include media. The course will show how timely and accurate information is distributed to the community in the interest of saving lives and protecting property.

Primary Audience
Those individuals who enter have public information responsibilities during an emergency/disaster event and/or distribute disaster awareness campaign information.
