Mass Casualty Preparedness in an Athletic Environment

The North Dakota Athletic Trainers Association and Trinity Health are proud to provide this educational presentation. The event is scheduled for April 11, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on campus of Minot State University, Swain Hall, 500 University Ave West, Minot, ND.

6:00 pm On-site registration
 EMS personnel may register on-line. Select the event link at trinityhealth.org.

7:00pm Dr. Wanda Swiger
 Dr. Swiger is an athletic trainer that worked the finish line at the Boston Marathon during last year's bombing along with 10 of her students. She will speak regarding the event and mass casualty preparedness.

8:00 pm Ward County Emergency Response Panel
 Panel to include, but not limited to a representative from Minot Central Dispatch, Minot Community Ambulance, Minot Fire and Rescue and Ward County Emergency Management to explain and define the role of each entity upon a mass casualty call.

8:45 pm Robyn Gust-Trinity Sport Medicine Manager
 Ms. Gust will explain the process Trinity Sports Medicine has taken to have mass casualty plans in place for all Ward County schools and large athletic events Trinity Sports Medicine provides coverage for as well as the additional training athletic trainers completed for mass casualty care.

This seminar has been approved for 2.5 CEU hours in the LCCR Category by the North Dakota Department of Health Division of Emergency Medical Services and Trauma for emergency personnel. (There is no fee associated with this education).

This seminar is also approved for 2.5 CEU for Athletic Trainers, through the BOC approved provider number P2177.

Athletic Trainers must register for the State Athletic Training symposium.
