Evacuation and Re-entry Planning
Date: 2/5/2014 - 2/6/2014
Location: Bismarck
add to outlook calendar

This course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to design and implement an evacuation and re-entry plan for their jurisdictions. It uses a community's vulnerability analysis and evacuation plan. It also addresses evacuation behavior and recommends methods to make evacuation and re-entry more efficient. It does not address the decision to evacuate or re-enter. The persons responsible for planning, implementing and carry out evacuation within a jurisdiction should attend this course as a team. Please bring your jurisdiction's vulnerability analysis and evacuation plan.

Registration will be from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and class will begin at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at 5:00 p.m. Feb. 5 and 6, 2014.

The class will be held at the Comfort Inn, 1030 East Interstate Avenue in Bismarck. Rooms have been reserved at the state rate. Call the Comfort Inn at (701) 223-1911 and ask for the Evacuation and Re-entry (DES) room block. Reservations must be made by January 20, 2014, to receive the state rate on this block of rooms.

NDDES will reimburse participants for meals and lodging according to state rates and policy. Participants must travel a distance greater than 50 miles to be eligible for reimbursement.

We recommend attendance at Hazardous Weather and Flood Preparedness the day preceding this course.

Questions may be directed to Brenda Vossler at blvossler@nd.gov.
