This class has been cancelled.

Design an exercise you can take home and use!

This course is designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of exercise design and to prepare participants to design and conduct a small functional exercise for your organization. The course addresses the value of conducting exercises, the components of a comprehensive exercise program, the exercise development process, organization of the design team, exercise documentation, and the steps in designing an exercise.

We will work in groups and utilize HSEEP templates to design an exercise (or several) that you can take home and use in your jurisdiction. This is a good opportunity to bring a group of people from your jurisdiction to work together in designing an exercise. Please bring your laptops if possible.

Registration will be from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and class will begin at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at 5:00 p.m. October 29 and 30.

The class will be held at the Comfort Inn, 1030 East Interstate Avenue in Bismarck. Rooms have been reserved at the state rate. Call the Comfort Inn at (701) 223-1911 and ask for the Exercise Design room block. Reservations must be made by October 13, 2013 to receive the state rate on this block of rooms.

NDDES will reimburse participants for meals and lodging according to state rates and policy. Participants must travel a distance greater than 50 miles to be eligible for reimbursement.

Questions may be directed to Brenda Vossler at blvossler@nd.gov.
