Watermelon and Music at Former Governors' Mansion
The Former Governors’ Mansion State Historic Site is hosting “Watermelon and American Folk Songs” on July 4. Located on the corner of Fourth Street and East Avenue B, Bismarck, the Mansion will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on July 4, with free slices of watermelon available from 1 p.m. until closing.
At 2 p.m. visitors are invited to join a sing-along on the back porch featuring American folk songs from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when the Mansion was built and inhabited by North Dakota governors and their families. Visitors are encouraged to bring acoustic instruments. This free event is open to all ages.
We strengthen the creative capacity of North Dakota for all who live or visit here: honoring our cultural traditions, empowering excellence and innovation, inspiring arts and culture opportunities for all.
