UND Bands Concert
The University of North Dakota Wind Ensemble and University Band, conducted by Dr. James Popejoy, will open the concert with Dennis Eveland's Fanfare for a New Generation and a transcription of Rossini's Semiramide Overture. Also on their program will be the classic National Emblem march by E.E. Bagley, and a contemporary suite by Brian Balmages, Elements. Concluding their portion of the concert will be John Mackey's Undertow. The Wind Ensemble will open their portion of the program with the exciting Commando March by Samuel Barber, and continue with the cornerstone work for modern concert band repertoire, Gustav Holst's First Suite in Eb. Rounding out their program will be Concord by Clare Grundman, Malcolm Arnold's English Dances, and the programatic Firefly by Ryan George.
