The Minot State University ceramics studio will exhibit a collection of pottery by students, community members, and instructor Linda Olson in the Gordon B. Olson Library Gallery July 7 through August 6, 2015.
The exhibit, titled “Plan C,” features work by Rachel Alfaro, Kalyn Dewitt, Austin Larsen, Sherry Locken, Tyler Loeffler, Emilie Marquardt, Roxi Mathis, Natalie Stivers, Ben Wilson, and Olson.
Several of the exhibitors are MSU students enrolled in ceramics classes, while others participate in the art department’s “open studio” program, which encourages community members to make art at the university in return for a nominal fee for use of the facilities.
Though some ceramic sculptures will be exhibited, most of the work “has a more utilitarian bent,” said Olson. Pieces to be displayed are “mostly things you would use around the home.” Many of the works will be for sale.
The exhibit is free and open to the public. Parking on the MSU campus is unrestricted after 5 p.m.
