The Minot State University Percussion Ensemble will perform Monday, November 30, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. in Ann Nicole Nelson Hall, Minot State University.
The program will open with “Normandy Beach - 1944,” David Gillingham’s classic percussion ensemble tribute to the D-Day invasion of Europe. Other selections include a transcription of Monteverdi’s “Lasciatemi Morire” for marimba ensemble; the ragtime tune “Steppin’ Round” by Al Anderson, featuring Carson Adam on xylophone; and Mark Ford’s “Stubernic” for marimba trio. Senior music major Suzannah Miller will present “Etude #1” for snare drum by Jacques Delécluse. The ensembles are under the direction of percussion instructor Avis Veikley.
The program is free and open to the public. Parking in campus lots is unrestricted after 5 p.m.
