I Will Not Go Gently
‘I Will Not Go Gently’ is about sex, drugs, rock ‘n roll . . . and menopause. The play follows 80’s rock legend Sierra Mist, her podcasting fan Abby, and a mix of other women asking, “when did I get old, and if I’m old, can I still be cool?” Though the play is full of characters questioning their careers, their parenting, and their future, it does not take itself too seriously. It’s ultimately a fast-paced romp through enlightened self-discovery, with a rowdy soundtrack of punk rock hits like “Jack in My Box” and “Stubble,” to poke fun at pop culture and establishment expectations.
