Local Arts Opportunities:
Bismarck Downtown Artist Co-op Third Foot in the Door: The Artist Co-op is planning an anniversary exhibit, titled Third Foot in the Door. This is the third year for this exhibit. Over 100 pieces were exhibited last year to celebrate the opening of the Artist Co-op in December of 2011. This is the only exhibit that is also open to non-members. The Co-op is seeking artists from all over the USA. BDAC is accepting two and three-dimensional art in all media. All art must be 12” X 12” or smaller including the frame. The entry fee is one for 15.00 or two entries for 20.00. Registration, fees and delivered art are all due on November 30, 2013. The opening reception is slated for December 6, 2013, 5:30-8:30. For more information, contact BDAC at 202.3400 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for a prospectus for the exhibit.
State Historical Society's Second Annual Photo Contest, Theaters are this year’s Theme: The second annual State Historical Society of North Dakota Photo Contest is accepting entries until December 31, 2013. The subject for the 2013 contest is Theaters in North Dakota. The theme of theaters includes movie, drive-in, and stage theaters, amphitheaters, and opera houses. Theaters have played a major role in the entertainment of North Dakotans for many years and are currently facing another technology change and threat to their survival. Some changes have been made to the rules of the contest this year. Rules are available by contacting Lisa Steckler at email@example.com or 701-328-3577, online at www.history.nd.gov/photocontest, or by writing to: State Historical Society of ND, c/o Lisa Steckler, 612 E Boulevard Avenue, Bismarck ND 58505.
