Concert attendees interested in learning more about the pieces performed are invited to attend the pre-concert chat presented by Maestro Everett and guest artist Hannah Porter Occeña. Pre-concert chats are free of charge and held at 7 pm prior to the concert in the Conductor’s Lounge at the Belle Mehus Auditorium.

Dakota Film Festival

The 8th annual Dakota Film Festival runs from April 4th to 6th at the Belle Mehus Auditorium.

The event kicks off Thursday at 7 P.M. with a full length documentary, "The Great Alone" presented by Bismarck State College and ArtsQuest. Friday's Night of Shorts starts at 7 P.M. and features award-winning short films from the region and around the world. Filmmakers are invited on-stage to speak about their film. A Saturday Matinee at 2 P.M. offers additional films as well as the Dakota Film Dash competition and awards ceremony.

Opera virtuoso and University of North Dakota graduate, Tammy Hensrud returns to Bismarck for a beautiful evening of Strauss’ songs. The BMSO will conquer Richard Strauss’ epic tone poem Don Juan, and take on music from the “Waltz King” Johann Strauss, Jr.
