The 8th annual Dakota Film Festival runs from April 4th to 6th at the Belle Mehus Auditorium.
The event kicks off Thursday at 7 P.M. with a full length documentary, "The Great Alone" presented by Bismarck State College and ArtsQuest. Friday's Night of Shorts starts at 7 P.M. and features award-winning short films from the region and around the world. Filmmakers are invited on-stage to speak about their film. A Saturday Matinee at 2 P.M. offers additional films as well as the Dakota Film Dash competition and awards ceremony.
“Experiencing WWI through Its’ Music” will be presented by Perry Hornbacher, professor of History at Bismarck State College, at 2 p.m. on Feb. 17 at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck.

Eric Johnson graduated from NDSU and continued his studies at the University of North Dakota's Master of Fine Arts program. During his studies at UND he began his ongoing series of Cityscapes, inspired by recollections of his first visits to Chicago and New York City.
