The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) is the first and largest nonprofit, nonpartisan organization for new veterans, with nearly 300,000 Member Veterans and supporters nationwide. IAVA is a 21st century veterans’ organization dedicated to standing with the 2.5 million veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan from their first day home through the rest of their lives. Founded in 2004 by an Iraq veteran, our mission is to improve the lives of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and their families.
The North Dakota Military Outreach Program is a state program designed to assist Military Veterans, Past and Present Service Members, and their Families in finding resources, services, and benefits to meet their needs. Military Outreach Specialists are regionally located throughout North Dakota. They connect you with information and resources in the areas of: Federal and State Veteran Benefits, Military Records, Mental Health/ PTSD, Retirement, Financial, Employment, and Homelessness.
Our mission is to foster and improve the National Guard by promoting and encouraging friendly and social relations among all members of the National Guard, and to promote and advance the status, welfare, and professionalism of Enlisted Members.
