AMVETS Post #9 will host veteran suicide awareness and prevention seminar on December 16, 2019 at 7PM.

The presenter for this evening’s program is Ms. Thea Ward; a national award winner, receiving rec-ognition for impacting her community with her work on suicide prevention. Included in these awards is the prestigious SSgt Andrew P Nelson Award for her work in veteran suicide prevention. She is serving as a Public Affairs Specialist in the ND Army National Guard and serves as a field advocate and presenter for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Ms. Ward is also the Chapter Captain of Team Red, White and Blue in Bismarck. Team RWB’s mission is to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity, and has 200 chapters with 192,000+ members nation-wide. She was recently appointed by the Governor to be a part of his Task Force for Veterans Affairs, and is involved in a number of other important organizations in our community. Thea’s true passion has
always been, and continues to be, veteran engagement and mental health.
